Georges Brassens and the morning market
I’m surprised. There is the Parc Georges Brassens in such close proximity.
I like Brassens as I used his song as an iPhone ringtone. In the 1950s and 1960s, popular French songs in Japan were those of Edith Piaf, Yves Montand, Juliette Greco,etc. Apart from these popular songs, there was secretly popularity Brassens and songs of gauloiserie. He sang the poems of François Villon, Pierre Corneille, Alfred de Musset, Victor Hugo, Paul Verlaine and Louis Aragon, composing himself music. Not to mention the French Georges Brassens site, but also the site named “Japan Georges Brassens complete collection" is worthy of reference. (to be continued…)

Parc Georges Brassens
I went to the morning market just a short walk from the Brassens Park. Also I bought way back bread and brioche and lightning and “religieuse” at the bakery called Gâteau battu. It was a great queue store. According to Wikipedia in French, it is now made around the corner, but it was once said that it was a special product of Somme Department, especially Abbeville County, among others.
The Gâteau battu is a specialty of the Somme and in particular the Abbeville area even if manufactured today throughout the department.
It is a kind of bun brown crust, rich in butter and eggs, the dough a golden yellow very convoluted is more airy and moist than traditional bun. Gastronomic symbol of maritime Picardy, this recognizable shape in baking chef’s hat was originally dessert days of traditional celebrations.
